CHILDRENITE-EOSPHORITE    Chickering Mine, Walpole, NH
3 mm lustrous radial spray of clear childrenite-eosphorite crystals on siderite matrix.

Species:           CHILDRENITE-EOSPHORITE
Locality:          Chickering Mine, Walpole, NH
Specimen Size: 3 mm lustrous radial spray of clear childrenite-eosphorite crystals on siderite matrix.
Field Collected: Peter Cristofono (2010)
Catalog No.:
Notes: The EDS analysis of this specimen showed that it is slightly on the Childrenite side of the childrenite-eosphorite series. The manganese content must be grater than the iron content for the specimen to fall on the eosphorite side of the childrenite-eosphorite series. The analysis of several Chickering Mine childrenite-eosphorite specimens has yet to yield a sample that falls on the eosphorite side of the series. This was the first clear example that was analyzed. The previously analyzed ones were pale yellow.
